TV Review: “Mr. Robot”

Mr. Robot tv series poster

Mr. Robot

OVERALL: Whoa! Friend EBL said this was a good show. She was RIGHT! This show is amazing!

POINTS: This is an intelligent show with interesting characters.

PITFALLS: Well…… sometimes the show can be a bit weird in terms of understanding the trajectory of the show. But eh, I can certainly live with that.

FEMALE CHARACTER(S): There are a few so far and they are programmers too. I like that. Although the actresses playing them look like fashion models, they are dressed appropriately and I like it. 🙂 Portia Doubleday and Carly Chaikin, well done. Also Sunita Mani, you are so cool.

CULTURAL PITFALL(S): Hmm…. Well the computer Geeks are mostly white males and I know that is what you tend to see in our culture AT THE MOMENT! Women and PoC have helped with computers and computer software so it would be nice to add some more in the show. I am pleased though that they do have some women and PoC so well done. Go ahead and add more. 😉

HIGH POINT(S): Actually computer talk. It’s like wow, the people who wrote this actually know something about computers!! That is such a relief. Also a dog is saved and that always makes me happy. Plus it is good to see a lead character with a social disorder who is probably on the spectrum of autism. Very cool and well done to actor Rami Malek.

BECHDEL TEST (Website): 1 of 3  to 3 of 3.  Nice. 🙂

RACIAL BECHDEL TEST (Website): 1 of 3 – so far.
