“All the little angels, rise up, rise up.
All the little angels, rise up high!
How do they rise up, rise up, rise up?
How do they rise up, rise up high?“
So today is a glorious day indeed. Yes it is Geek Pride Day! I am a Geek and PROUD OF IT! Yes it is also Towel Day – in celebration of Douglas Adams and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. But today, for me, it is all about Sir Terry Pratchett and The Glorious 25th of May. (NOTE: You can combine all of these days. See Wear the Lilac Towel.)
I knew I had to write this post when I found the song All the Little Angels on YouTube! See below. This is the song the revolutionaries sing in the book. The below by DJ Boogie is absolutely perfect. I promise that I will dance to that one day. The song is perfect and the video! Read the book to thoroughly enjoy.
In his book Night Watch, lead character and fan favorite, Commander Sam Vimes goes back in time by accident and runs into himself where once again, he relives the revolution that years later, will result in the Patrician and a better Ankh-Morpork. (Although to be honest, Sam Vimes would probably argue with me about that but I’m standing firm.)
I wish right now that I could share with you how much I loved reading that book. It was where a young copper (Vimes) learned to be a honest, good copper even though that is hard. In the time of Black Lives Matter, this is a lesson for us all. It is a time when people joined together and did make a better future. Yes, for themselves, but also for others. For me it is a book of absolute hope. Just writing about it fills my heart. It is and was a glorious revolution.
So yes go get this book and read it!
Now this day happened because Sir Terry Pratchett got Alzheimer’s. He asked that people wear lilac on May 25th and support Alzheimer’s research. In his honor, yes please make a donation to the Alzheimer Association. I know I will. I hate Alzheimer’s for taking Sir Terry from us. I will always cry about that.

Also below are some informational links and then an image gallery of some of my favorite Glorious 25th of May pictures. Enjoy.
And enjoy reading Pratchett. If you haven’t read any of his books, start now. Those of you who have read him, well I don’t need to tell you. You’re already reading him again.
Happy Glorious 25th of May! Freedom, Truth, Justice, Reasonably Priced Love, and A Hard Boiled Egg. I’ll celebrate that every year.
