Thor: Ragnarok

OVERALL: Yes, yes, 1,000 times YES!!!!!!! I wanna see it again and again!

POINTS: This movie had action, adventure, acting, and HUMOR! If you didn’t laugh during this movie, well there is something wrong with you.

PITFALLS: Hmm… Well I need it to be out on DVD like yesterday.

FEMALE CHARACTER(S): Oh Valkyrie played by Tessa Thompson, how I adore you! What a fun butt-kicking character. The director didn’t want her to be just a pretty girl. She had to have her own story and life. And she did. LOVED her!

Then there is Hela. OMG. Who’d a thunk Cate Blanchett could play such an awesome Goth chick? Her Hela was spot on – sinister, threatening, and like the rest of this movie, funny. She was a fine villain.

PLUS OMG Rachel House is Topaz. She was so funny!!!!!!!! Loved that she wasn’t just an object but was a threatening character in her own right. 

CULTURAL PITFALL(S): With all the cool women in this movie I was surprised to see a few walking around as decoration. Then again they were “working” for the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) so I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. I mean, the Grandmaster’s right hand was Topaz who was so funny and buttkicking. 

HIGH POINT(S):

1. Immigrant Song. Not one, but two fight scenes to this fabulous song.
2. Valkyrie strutting. To the second Immigrant song in the movie, our heroine STRUTS onto the screen. I could watch that for ages!
3. The “I Know You” moments between Valkyrie and Bruce. Very fun and so well acted.
4. Fenris the Wolf. Oh that big ole puppy dog is the bringer of doom but I just wanted to pet him so bad! If I had been on Asgard, I would have wanted to pet him.

BECHDEL TEST (Website): 2 of 3. A bit disappointed but then again, I could be wrong.
