John Wick: Chapter 2

OVERALL:  Tagline reads: “Never Stab the Devil In The Back.” Like duh and no kidding because in this case the Devil, aka hero John Wick, is out for justifiable revenge and well, you can’t blame him.

POINTS: Love good action movies and this one did not disappoint.

PITFALLS: Hmmm….. If I had pitfalls it was with character actions. The first John Wick felt very rooted in reality. This one, not so much. Oh and I always worry about the dog. And property damage really bothers me.

FEMALE CHARACTER(S): We have Ruby Rose as Ares and Claudia Gerini as Mob Queen Gianna D’Antonio.  I really enjoyed watching Ms. Rose kick her way through the film Wasn’t so sure about Ms. Gerini’s character but she was interesting for the little bit of time she was on screen. 

CULTURAL PITFALL(S): Hmm…. Well, I can’think of anything right away.

HIGH POINT(S): My favorite all time high point and line in the movie, delivered to perfection by Laurence Fishburne: “Somebody please get this man a gun!”

BECHDEL TEST (Website): 1 of 3.

RACIAL BECHDEL TEST (Website): 3 of 3. OMG there is a wonderfully funny scene in this movie that made me laugh and think out loud “They passed the Racial Bechdel Test!”

DVD/BLU-RAY WORTHY: Yes.

LION PAW PRINTS:  2.5 of 5. I liked it but don’t know if I would be super excited to see it again. Mostly because I would worry about the dog and the property damage.
