Movie Review: “Jason Bourne”

Jason Bourne movie poster

INTRODUCTION: This movie is part of the movie viewing extravaganza my beloved hubby and I enjoy over the long weekend that Labor Day gives us. Hence the tag Labor Day Weekend 2016. Jason Bourne was the third movie we saw.

OVERALL: As Mildred shared with me “It’s a Bourne movie!” Which means fun action, twisty plots, and cool scenery. In short, it is an action adventure movie and that is just the way I like it.

NOTE: You can read Mildred’s review here.

POINTS: For me, seeing Matt Damon as Jason Bourne is always good.

PITFALLS: I needed a bit more character development.

FEMALE CHARACTER(S): Yup. We have Alicia Vikander as Heather Lee, a smart new generation CIA operative. I’m still not sure what side she is on, other than her own. Cool character – hope she comes back.

Once again, Julia Stiles plays Nicky Parsons, who is now on the run. I liked seeing her navigate the underworld that she now lives in.

CULTURAL PITFALL(S): Eh. I liked it and sure more PoC and women would be good. This however did not ruin the movie for me.

HIGH POINT(S): The one punch fight scene. 🙂 It’s actually in the previews too. It was just fun.

Oh and watching Alicia Vikander throw a mini temper tantrum in her car for getting “caught”. 🙂
