The Great British Baking Show

OVERALL: People had been telling me for close to a year that this show was really good. I was reminded several times by several different people to start watching the new season. I’m so glad I did. What a fun show.

POINTS: This show can make you quite hungry. The people are fun and what is also very nice is that they are supportive of each other. Even the contestants are kind to each other. There is no character assassination. Good. People here act like considerate adults.

PITFALLS: Did I mention this show makes you hungry?

FEMALE CHARACTER(S): We have two Hosts, Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins. They are lovely and helpful hosts and comediennes. Our judges are Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood. Yes they are exacting judges but they are also fair and will try to say something nice about this food they are tasting. They are a good foursome and yes their kindness make the show. 

CULTURAL PITFALL(S): *giggle* This may be cultural, or show I am not a professional baker, but sometimes I disagree with the judges!! I like moist, dense cakes and they do not. I don’t care if my food is ugly – just as long as it tastes good. And PULEEZ – peanut butter, chocolate, and jam are flavors that TOTALLY go together. This isn’t really a pitfall, just an observation.

HIGH POINT(S): I love how each contestant makes things so different from each other. What they think is beautiful or tasty may not translate to the judges. Everyone just seems so nice too. I really love watching this show. Also the English countryside is so wonderful!!
