TV Review: “Manhattan”

OVERALL: Excellent television.

POINTS: What’s not to enjoy? The entire show is well made.

PITFALLS: Hmmm……. I don’t know yet. Well if we don’t get a season 3 I will be pissed.

FEMALE CHARACTER(S): Yup. There are many female characters and this is refreshing as I thought it would only be about men. The female characters are varied in education, experience, and age. They are cool. They are whole, well-rounded people – just like the men. 🙂

CULTURAL PITFALL(S): The show does point out the prejudices of the day. Also makes you wonder how the bomb even got built with all of the bureaucracy and fear running through the environment.

HIGH POINT(S): It is fun to watch this show knowing how the bomb has affected the world and seeing how these characters wonder what it will do. Fat Man and Little Boy. Just watch.

RACIAL BECHDEL TEST (Website): 1 of 3 2 of 3. *sigh* I know that in the ’40s white was THE color, however I wonder if there were more PoC on the base than we think.
