The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

OVERALL: Beautiful. They put everything in this movie I hoped to see. I want to see this in the theater again.

POINTS: A beautiful adaptation of a powerful book.

PITFALLS: There were times when the movie felt rushed. Granted they wanted to keep it under three hours, however hey, another 30 minutes would have been grand. I wanted more wedding and more ending from the book epilogue.

Oh and darnit, the series is over and I am bummed about that. Thank goodness for DVDs.

FEMALE CHARACTER(S): Yup. Katniss Everdeen played by Jennifer Lawrence is just, well, perfect. Lawrence is a spectacular actress who has acting ability AND star power on the screen. She is amazing and she is perfect as Katniss. There are times in the movie when I want her to show more but when she does I realize that the character was protecting herself all along. Wow.

Hat off also to the other wonderful women in this movie. There are many that come in many ages, shapes, sizes, and colors. ‘Tis good.

CULTURAL PITFALL(S): Hmm…. Well this is a movie that loathes the 1% and the devaluing of ALL human life. So I had no trouble with it.

HIGH POINT(S): Jennifer Lawrence and the entire cast. Wow. I have admired theses characters for years and seeing them so well brought to life made me smile. Oh and Patina Miller ’cause well, telling you will be a spoiler.
