TV Review: “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” – Animated Version

I love the animated 1966 version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Love it. Forget Rudolph, forget Frosty, nope to A Christmas Story and uh-uh to It’s A Wonderful LifeHow the Grinch Stole Christmas is THE Christmas movie for me! (I even played the Grinch in a church adaptation years ago. I got to crawl through a cardboard chimney. Yup, I got stuck and had to wiggle out of it. Of course we all laughed.) When this movie finally came out on DVD you bet I bought it. I watch it every Christmas (along with Die Hard). This way I can watch it all the time and not have to worry about catching it on TV.  🙂

How the Grinch Stole Christmas is funny and very touching. I still kind of tear-up at the end. For me the best part about the movie is hearing the Grinch AND watching his interactions with Max his dog. The visual and aural humor never stops for me. I love everything about it. It is 24 minutes of pure Christmas joy.

OH MY!! There is also a How the Grinch Stole Christmas musical. Oh if it ever comes close to me, I am so going. 🙂

Breaking News: I just found out on the the Seussville Website! You can also add to your and others Christmas joy, and grow your heart three sizes, by celebrating the 25 Days of Grinch-mas. So worth it.

WATCH!! Embedded below is the classic song from the movie You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch. Enjoy!

And if you don’t celebrate Christmas per se, you can enjoy this anyway. It is funny and fun and touching.

Happy Holidays!

P.S. Please DO NOT CONFUSE this wonderful animated movie with the foul stench that is the live action version made in 2000 with Jim Carrey. Just don’t go there. Check out the title Movie Hubby & I & Friends Hated on the Chick Flicking Lists & Faves page for the full run down.
