OVERALL: An end of the world series that focuses more on hope than despair. Lots of plot twists to keep the viewer going. Mind you I am not a fan of the end of the world genre and tend to steer clear of this kind of show. However Hubby started watching it and I must admit I enjoy it too.
POINTS: I like that the show often has twists and turns that I did not expect.
PITFALLS: There are times I want to take the lead good guys and gals by the hand and shake them. I mean good grief, how could they be so naive? Yet their naivete is believable if not annoying.
FEMALE CHARACTER(S): Yup. There are lots of women characters and they get to play all kinds of roles and be in charge. I think this is what I like about the show the most.
CULTURAL PITFALL(S): Hmmm… Other than needing more PoC I can’t think of any right now.
HIGH POINT(S): I like that a history professor can be a leader and help with situations the characters find themselves in. The old adage “Those who do not understand history are condemned to repeat it” figures strongly in this show.
BECHDEL TEST (Website): My guess: 1 of 3 to 3 of 3. Depends on the episode. Still, the women characters always get to have good talks.
