Carry On My Supernatural Wayward Sons
So today, Thursday, November 19, 2020, marks the final episode of the final season of that television phenom Supernatural. Love it or could care less about it, this show has left it’s mark.
There is so much I could say about Supernatural. Hubby and I have followed it from the beginning. We watched the very first episode live and have TiVo’d it ever since. We both enjoy the show’s premise of demon hunting and the trips through the American heartland.
I am just so proud of them for going for so many years and continuing to be so entertaining and surprising. That is a real achievement. Even new shows can’t go that far. -CFR Hubby
Sure I could complain about something in Supernatural, but I won’t. Today I celebrate.
First, well done that this show knows it is alive, making money, and will continue after it goes off air thanks to the fan base! Yes the fan base are mostly women. Surprised? Uh, this CFR is NOT surprised. Two gorgeous, I mean really gorgeous men, lead this show. You could turn the sound off and just enjoy. 🙂 Their 200th episode was a total salute to the fans. Check out the YouTube playlist for clips from the episode and behind the scenes: Supernatural 200th ep.”Fan Fiction” Behind the Scenes chat with Jensen & Jared [HD] [cc]. Watch more videos about and clips from this 200th episode from the YouTube search. You can also purchase the music, which yes I did, from Amazon and iTunes.
Second, Wayward Sisters. This was supposed to be a spin-off featuring some of the coolest women characters on the show. It hasn’t happened. Boo. I still have hope because lots of us fans want to see our Wayward Sisters show.
Also, Charlie, played by Felicia Day. I wrote about her here: TV Thoughts: Felicia Day Makes “Supernatural” Better. It was nice to see that Supernatural was accepting of LGBTQ+ and racial equality.
Oh and Supernatural doesn’t have an official theme. The unofficial theme that all fans use is Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas. Yes that is part of the reasoning for the title of this post. Producer Eric Kripke wanted classic rock. Each episode is filled with it. Thank goodness! Not only do I love my classic rock, it is also fun to dance to in a show.
For me personally, Supernatural inspired a Facebook friend to post about their dream burlesque/drag show. I jumped on that and added the belly dance. Witness Carry On My Wayward Buns. I enjoy dancing as Sam. I am, after all, the tallest.
Now I would be remiss if I didn’t share with you the quite possibly greatest Supernatural parody/salute EVAR! Thank you Hillywood Show. Enjoy
Supernatural Parody by The Hillywood Show®
Their second Supernatural/Ghost Busters parody was also good: Supernatural Parody 2 by The Hillywood Show®.
I should write more. This post should be filled with heart warming and wrenching information. But this is it. I will miss Supernatural for many reasons. I wish success to all who worked on this show. I wish love and joy to all who watch it and will miss.
Carry on wayward fans. Carry on.
And don’t forget the salt.

Oh Dean. Chick flick moments just mean it is good. Trust me. I know.
