TV Review: “Wynnona Earp”

Wynnona Earp tv show poster

Wynnona Earp

OVERALL: You gotta watch this show! So much fun! Hubby and I both love it and want you to watch it ’cause YES!! Old West meets SciFi/Fantasy with demon slaying action. Packs more punches and laughs than Firefly. Oh just go watch!!!!

Hubby has pointed out to me that our friends are not talking about this show. Come on buddies! You gonna LOVE this!

POINTS: LOL! There is so much to enjoy. Wynnona and her beginning hero ways, the town, the plot, the demon slaying. The huge Colt. .44 Wynnona carries. Oh it is just good old demon slaying fun! Good characters and scenery.

PITFALLS: I think they only made 13 episodes….

FEMALE CHARACTER(S): Oh good grief yes! We have Melanie Scrofano as Wynnona Earp, Dominique Provost-Chalkley as Wavely Earp, and Katherine Barrell as law woman Nicole Haught. Plus we have other wonderful characters coming in and out of the show.

The men are cool too! We’ve got Shamier Anderson as Agent Dolls (yes, that’s right Dolls). Also Tim Rozon as Doc Holliday channels Val Kilmer from Tombstone and then adds his own kick to the character.

All the acting is good, believable, and the cast works well together. Love it!

CULTURAL PITFALL(S): More PoC would be good. Other than that, I got nothing.

HIGH POINT(S): Wynnona herself. And the Colt .44. I want one.

BECHDEL TEST (Website): 3 of 3.  Nice. 🙂

RACIAL BECHDEL TEST (Website): 1 of 3 – so far.
