TV Review: “Warehouse 13”

Warehouse 13 posterWarehouse 13

OVERALL: I want to work at the Warehouse. That is how I feel every time I watch this show. It is so much and the diverse ensemble cast is wonderful.

POINTS: This show is fun! It has a wonderful assortment of characters that range in age, size, color, diversity, and sexual preference. Schweet! Plus you get to

PITFALLS:  The seasons were too short and the show is over. Boo!

FEMALE CHARACTER(S): Oh yeah. So many to choose from and THAT makes this how extra awesome! We have Myka (Joanne Kelly) our very very smart and capable Secret Service agent.; There is Claudia (Allison Scagliotti) hacker and smart alec technology genius extraordinaire; Leena (Genelle Williams) extra ordinary Warehouse employee and “mom”; Mrs. Frederic (CCH Pounder) pretty much She Who Can Do and Know All; and to round it off, we even have H.G. Wells (Jaime Murray) yes a woman in this series, make a few appearances. They are all interesting characters and hooray have many scenes and conversations with each other, mostly about Warehouse issues. So good.

CULTURAL PITFALL(S): Hmmm…. I’ll let you know.

HIGH POINT(S):

1.) The Men. I shall now tip my hat the men, specifically Pete (Eddie McClintock), Warehouse agent, and Artie (Saul Rubinek) Warehouse curator and curmudgeon. They are later joined by Steve “Jinks” (Aaron Ashmore). They are all fun characters and treat each other and the women with respect. ‘Tis good. Plus each character is quite different from the other and that makes screen time and scene time with them different and good.

2.) Artie and Claudia. OMG! These two have great on screen chemistry AND wonderful laugh out loud scenes. They adore each other, are both brilliant, and although they snark at one another there is so much love and camaraderie it makes you smile. Love their scenes and dynamics. In one scene Claudia says “Are you shaking your jowls at me?” LOL! Oh and don’t worry Artie gives as good as he gets.

BECHDEL TEST (Website):  3 of 3 all the time. Huzzah!

RACIAL BECHDEL TEST (Website):  1 of 3 to 3 of 3 depending on the episode. 🙂
