OVERALL: I really enjoyed the Librarian TV movies. Hubby and I were THRILLED to see a series expanding on the Librarian universe. This show does not disappoint. I mean how can you not love a show that advertises “Filing Evil Under History”? I also love libraries and librarians in general so huzzah!
POINTS: Fun fun fun! The characters, situations, sets, dialogue, it is all FUN! If you don’t smile during this show, well goodness you must be a grouch. It is good hearted adventure with excellent characters. Plus I get the feeling the actors are having a great time too and that always translates well for me. Watch and enjoy!
PITFALLS: What? The season was 10 episodes long?!?! Uh no, and thank goodness for season 2. Which had better have more episodes.
FEMALE CHARACTER(S): We have at least two excellent heroines: Eve Baird played by Rebecca Romijn and Cassandra Cillian played by Lindy Booth. They are brain and brawn and fun. I like them both. They treat their male counterparts with equality and the male counterparts treat them the same way. 🙂
CULTURAL PITFALL(S): Black characters please! Other than that, nope, this show pretty much fabulous.
HIGH POINT(S): I smile every time this show starts. It never ceases to make me happy. Favorite Moment: When character Cassandra Cillian, played by Lindy Booth, was perceived as “Prince Charming” by the women in an enchanted town. Did the character shirk from this gender binary change? Nope. She quoted “Terminator” and helped save the day (“Come with me if you want to live.” Oh Lordy that was soooo good!!
BECHDEL TEST (Website): 3 of 3 pretty much all of the time. Squee!
RACIAL BECHDEL TEST (Website): 1 of 3 to 3 of 3 depending on the episode. 🙂
DVD/BLU-RAY WORTHY: Goodness yes!
LION PAW PRINTS: 3.5 of 5. I kinda wanna live with these people in the Library.
