OVERALL: Oh so very enjoyable! What fun! A time warp movie that makes sense and delivers action, wit, and humor. Just go see it and enjoy.

POINTS: Repeating the same day and learning. Yes I know, sounds like Groundhog Day, but this is so much grittier.  Plus it is fun to watch when Cruise’s character announces to another that he has learned how to be a soldier. We the audience know it is true.

PITFALLS: Hmm… Well, can’t think of any yet. I kept waiting to be bored with the going back in time, but I never was.

FEMALE CHARACTER(S): Emily Blunt is Rita – a soldier so good she inspires others and is the poster woman to recruit new soldiers and the ones currently enlisted. Very fun. I like how she is such a soldier. I like how she and Tom Cruise‘s character grow together – even though her character doesn’t know it.

CULTURAL PITFALL(S): Hmmm…. Well there could have been more women characters. Still enjoyed it though.

HIGH POINT(S): The CGI aliens. Very fun.

BECHDEL TEST (Website): 1 of 3. Still the women do kick butt and there are women in the background as well.

RACIAL BECHDEL TEST (Website): 1 of 3. Yes there are several PoC characters but alas they do not talk to each other. Still it was nice to see.
