TV Review: “Limitless”

Limitless TV show poster

Limitless

OVERALL: Fun and clever and sometimes surprises me. Very tasty popcorn for the TV watching soul.

POINTS: It’s a fun concept that takes off where the movie Limitless ended. I love not knowing who the overall bad buys are and maybe that is part of it the story and show arc.

PITFALLS: I find the hero a bit childish and annoying. I think he is supposed to be so I can’t totally fault him for that. Every now and then he shows signs of growing-up and I enjoy those.

FEMALE CHARACTER(S): Our main heroine is Agent Rebecca Harris played by Jennifer Carpenter. I didn’t warm to her at first as she didn’t seem impressive enough to be working with the characters played by Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Hill Harper however the show is allowing her depth and strength and I am beginning to like her more and more. Plus I love the mentoring the Agent Harris has with her amazing boss Nasreen ‘Naz’ Pouran played by the awesome Mastrantonio. THAT is so very cool to see.

CULTURAL PITFALL(S): Hmmm….. Don’t know yet. Now that Agent Harris is getting a backbone, I am a lot happier.

HIGH POINT(S): Watching Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Hill Harper OWN their characters and scenes. I love watching them.
