Wayward Pines

OVERALL: I enjoy watching this with my Hubby because he loves it so much. I find it very intriguing. Check it out if you like to watch people figuring out their very strange environment.

POINTS: The cast. I’m a fan of several of the actresses – Carla Gugino, Melissa Leo, and Shannyn Sossamon – and it is good to see them working. Plus I do enjoy hearing more of the “science” the show uses. It is also a show with a “mystery” that is actually being explained.

PITFALLS: I keep wanting the characters to ask different questions and/or take different actions. And frankly I have a problem with their idea of “evolution”.

FEMALE CHARACTER(S): Although built around one Secret Service characters, Ethan Burk played by Matt Dillon, this is an ensemble show. The previously listed actresses – Carla Gugino, Melissa Leo, and Shannyn Sossamon – all play unique and interesting characters. It has been fun learning their backstories.

CULTURAL PITFALL(S): See Racial Bechdel Test.

HIGH POINT(S): The show has a cool look to is.

RACIAL BECHDEL TEST (Website): 0 of 3 to 1 of 3. Well bother. The one PoC character died. Really do need more PoC in this show.
